An online strength and conditioning system for Personal Trainers/Coaches and Individual Athletes, or for individuals serious about strength training. It operates in a space where its key capabilities are largely un-competed.  The cloud-based platform provides new best value from its foundational ties to the industry science of automated 1RM’s (one repetition max) calculations, automated Progressive Overload, and the collection of consistent, real-time Performance Assessment data which is reportable and archivable – a first ‘big data’ in the fitness industry.

Fundamental to the app is the automated development of customized strength training Programs including easy replication/edit capabilities.  The Program development process is templated, consistent and driven by best practices.  These capabilities are a sharp contrast to current manual methods which are sloppy, time-consuming, difficult to manage, prone to errors and lack consistency. Automatic Program development differentiates Personal Trainers, delivers efficiencies and supports business expansion.

The app value optimizes strength training and for the first time delivers real analytics to track, compare and motivate performance.  MSW efficiency also frees up professionals to spend more time creating Programs and motivating safe and proper workouts.  Recently it’s been identified that automated Daily Workouts complement the current environment regarding optional remote workouts and social distancing.

Quasi competitors to the program include;  Trainerize, True Coach, Train Heroic and My PT Hub.  As noted elsewhere the overlap is minimal and not where the program demonstrates real differentiation - those being automated Program development, automated Progressive Overload and 1RM calculators, and performance data capture/reporting/archiving.  Overlaps occur in the me-too areas of onboarding/organizing athletes, smartphone workouts and exercise databases.

Why are we selling? It is owned by an LLC.  The first release of the app was used in a brick and mortar gym from 2015-2017.  That version, Gen1, was not user friendly but its core differentiators stood out.  The LLC partners realized that their true passion and competency was in developing a world-class software platform that was rich in capabilities and geographically unlimited.  The Gen2 initiative was launched in late 2017 and development concluded in March 2020.  The investment was significant, both financially and in terms of sweat equity – programming hours and testing were considerable and credentialed experts were retained as consultants.  March 2020 was also the peak of the COVID 19 outbreak making it impossible to launch a marketing campaign targeting fitness/sports professionals, workout facilities and individual athletes.  The wait was long and now the enthusiasm and willingness to invest more are not shared across the partners – hence this sale.

How can the buyer take this project further?

Post-pandemic market launch:

  1. Short term goal – focus on the top of the funnel - drive Free Trial customers – both Personal Trainers/Coaches and Individual Athletes to gain leads
    • Experiment across social media platforms to find the right audience, id best lead sources and grow brand awareness
    • Build website traffic by refreshing the website to include videos and blogs, improve SEO and landing pages with a goal of higher conversions
  2. Use inbound marketing to distribute relative content and gain influencers
  3. Adopt an automated platform for email campaigns
  4. Evaluate chatbots and conversational marketing tools
  5. Identify national/regional gym facilities and explore the potential of new business models
