A simple and free tool to help you easily create wire/user flows. No registration, no paid UI kits, no installation. It comes with over 100+ unique user flow cards, which can be DnD, connected to create beautiful and simple flows.

It started as a side project to solve my own problem back in 2017 when I got my first big client through my web agency. I wanted to avoid buying wireframe/user flows kits and using complex software like Photoshop or Illustrator to make flows or charts.

So knowing the technology, I had the idea to make a real-time collaboration tool free for all, with no registration needed. We made the original buggy MVP and since I was busy with other projects I never polished it. But after some time, someone found it via Google and hunted it on ProductHunt.

ProductHunt Hunt

On November 19, 2017, the project got 850 votes and finished as product number #2 of the day. The bad is that it was down for more than half of the day, and we found late that were are on PH. So most people couldn't even open it or test it. If it was working that day, not that it would be the #1 product of the day, but maybe even of the month.

At the time I had a solid community/chat of developers and designers (~3,000) which could support voters, and plus a couple of hundred thousand followers on Instagram in the UI/UX design niche.

None of those accounts was used to push the PH submission, but as I said if it was used and if the website was working through the day, It could reach the product of the month.

People really liked the project, and even the Founder of PH (Ryan Hoover) commented with β€œ+1 for not including a registration gate to try out the app.” (here is a screenshot https://i.imgur.com/FW69LNo.png).

Open Source

After being hunted on PH, I decided to open source the project and give people the ability to improve it. At that moment the tech stack was Meteor.js (for real-time collaboration) and Fabric.js for canvas manipulation. There were people who were interested in contributing, but I never found time for it, because at the moment and even now we are focused on Automatio.co (No-code web automation & data extraction tool)

Then earlier this year, I gave task to few students, to ditch the current Wireflow stack and simply rebuild it as a client-side application only, which mean it doesn't have a backend, database, or any heavy things.

HackerNews Frontpage

Then someone shared Wireflow on HackerNews, and it reached the top position front page. The link was pointing to Github bringing more than 2,500 Github stars and over ~20,000 visitors on the repo for 24h. The website itself also got a solid amount of traffic ~6,000 visitors that day.

Traffic & Backlinks

As you can see on this Google Analytics screenshot https://i.imgur.com/6kosRan.png, The project got over 220,000 visits for this couple of years. All that on one single (non-optimized) page, no blogs, no SEO, or any kind of paid or organic promotion.

Currently, Wireflow has around 200-400 unique visitors per day, mostly coming from Google.

The GEO is pretty good as well, most of the traffic is coming from the US, following up with Russia, India, and other EU countries https://i.imgur.com/C7y2yAW.png.

The project has a very strong SEO profile considering that I never worked on it and that all the traffic and backlinks were created organically and by virality. Here on this screenshot by Ahref https://i.imgur.com/98R2DOp.png, we can see that the Wireflow domain has a good domain authority of 44/33 and 339 domains with over 1,500 backlinks. As you can see on this screenshot https://i.imgur.com/9psJJ1M.png most of the backlinks come from the blog posts and articles written by authors/writers. Isn't this dream of every business?

I believe that creating a blog and writing on any topic related to UI/UX design, web development, productivity, project managing, tools, and so on, that the project with its authority and virality would rank high and easy for any of the medium keywords, which would result in much more traffic, then what he is getting with only 1 non-optimized page.

Why I am selling?

My main focus is on Automatio.co, which is a very complex project that we are building for the last ~4 years. So I never had time to go back to this project and put a time on it. Even it shows and proves itself that it needs a very little bit of work to become something much bigger, I really don't have time to do it. At least not for now.

I experienced myself doing it the hard way, what it means to spread focus everywhere, and not being able to complete one project fully. β€œThe man who chases two rabbits, catches neither.”

Automatio is also bootstrapped project, and it's just started generating revenue after years of development, so getting extra $$$ would mean a lot to push the project forward.

Another important thing is that my wife Jelena and I are waiting for our first baby. And having some money on the side would help us definitely.
