This is a project I built to sell access to the TradingView scripts that automatically detect harmonic patterns.

What does all that mean? TradingView (https://www.tradingview.com/) is probably the most popular platform for technical analysis. Their generous free plan attracted millions of traders, and most of the technical analysis I see nowadays is done on that platform.

Harmonic patterns or harmonic formations are price formations based on Fibonacci retracement levels described in detail by Scott Carney in his book "Harmonic Trading". According to this theory, if the price moves in a specific pattern, it forms a "harmonic pattern", and there is a bigger than usual chance that the price will change direction again (here is a more detailed explanation: https://www.investopedia.com/articles/forex/11/harmonic-patterns-in-the-currency-markets.asp).

How does this project make money?

I have created 5 scripts on the TradingView platform. 2 of them (with the most features) are available with a paid subscription (you can buy monthly or yearly subscription through Gumroad). Free scripts have enough features to be useful on their own, but you need to use paid scripts to get features like email alerts that are important to day-traders. Free scripts generate a lot of interest in paid ones. I also offer free 7-day trials of paid scripts.

Why I made this project?

I built it to scratch my own itch. After a trading workshop, I wanted to use harmonic patterns for day-trading because they looked promising. But at that time, everyone had to draw harmonic formations by hand, which was tedious. There was no good automatic script for that (existing scripts looked hard to use, had some weird settings, or could only detect some of the patterns).

How can you improve it?

If you are a trader, you can post more ideas on TradingView. If one of them is picked by TradingView editors and included in the newsletter, you will reach thousands of potential customers.

You can publish new videos on Youtube or tweet (two channels that I completely abandoned).

You can also implement new scripts or feature requests from the current users (and possibly create new paid scripts).

What do you need to know if you want to buy it?

While all the scripts work fine as they are, you definitely should know how to program to maintain and improve them. Scripts are written in Pine Script language (version 4): https://www.tradingview.com/pine-script-docs/en/v4/Introduction.html. If you don't know PineScript, there are some excellent resources (https://kodify.net/tradingview-programming-articles/) and an active community on Telegram where you can ask for advice. When I started working on Patterns Hunters, I didn't know this language, but it was quite quick to pick it up.

You also need to know about technical analysis and harmonic formations to understand what this script does, how it's supposed to work, and how the users use it.
