A massive, fully-customizable design system for making rough UX wireframes inside Sketch.  I built it from the ground up over a 3 month period.  I put a ton of hours into this because I wanted to scratch my own itch and improve my DesignOps skills.  It is a complete library loosely based on Bootstrap. Each symbol was handcrafted by me.

It got to the front page of Hacker News (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25327808) a few months back.

This is a great asset because, unlike design kits with a high-fidelity aesthetic, it should not go out of style for a very long time and it has a very broad audience (e.g. UX designers, product managers, etc). There will always be a need for low-fidelity prototyping tools.  If you port it to Figma you will immediately unlock a huge new market for this product.

All sales have come from UI8, although I also set up a Gumroad account.  The sale includes the premium squiggle.co domain name. There is no website (squiggle.co currently points to the Gumroad product landing page).

How can the buyer take this project further?

Here is what I would suggest to rapidly grow this product:

  1. Add a Figma version. There are tools out there to help with conversion but they will still need some manual work to refine, since some things to cleanly port over. Adding a Figma version could easily double your total addressable market. I've had multiple requests for a Figma version.
  2. Add an Adobe XD version (see above).
  3. Build an affiliate network.  I've got one Gumroad affiliate signed up but there is a ton of room to build a much bigger network, in addition to listing the product on platforms like shareasale.
  4. Build a standalone site and do SEO.  I already did some basic off-site SEO groundwork but with a real strategy could rank for some great high volume search phrases.
  5. Experiment with social media marketing. I haven't set up any social media presence so this is a blue sky opportunity.
