Listing Details

This project started with 3 friends as a way to be able to deliver an end to end application.

Once it was completed we tried launching with little success and nowadays we are not investing much time on it.

The application is a renting platform, we chose this because, at the time, we were frustrated with the existing solutions.

Our solution had to be: clean, fast and easy to search and publish.

Basically as a owner, you register and then you go to the "publish" page, in there you publish your property by following the step by step form. Then you click on publish and that's it, you are ready to go.

As a person seeking to rent, you go to the main page, click in the input, type a location, place, or anything like a park, or shop and that's it, you'll see the results.

The results page displays a map on the left and the properties listing on the right.

The webiste is provided in the following languages: English, Spanish and Dutch.

Initially we launched in The Netherlands, but the site can easily work well in any country.

At the moment the site is showing fake results to showcase how it works.

Feel free to create an account and play with it. The facebook and google may not work well because they must be configured in their respective sites.

Development

The stack is very simple: 

Deployment

The system is designed to deploy itself automatically.

Once changes are approved and merged, it can deploy to a ‘staging’ branch, and then, by clicking on a ‘deploy to production’ button in the gitlab pipeline, it will be deployed to production.

The versions are automatically generated using conventional commits and semver.

The service is hosted in a kubernetes instance in Digital Ocean.

Price

The price is calculated based on the time we invested in it, we have been developing it for more than 2 years now, and selling it means closing a cycle.

How can the buyer take this project further?

I think a system like this would help a lot of people in search of a housing accommodation.

My belief is that we failed at marketing and communication, these areas are not part of our knowledge base, even though we have started investing time on it, rentee seems to require more manpower than we have, it's not an easy sector to penetrate in.

We've compared our solution with the ones of Spain, The Netherlands and Argentina, and to us, it brings a fresh and simple approach to the house seeking market.
