What you can and cannot sell on IndieMaker
As of 12 March 2020, we will no longer accept listings that do not adhere to the following content submission policy.
We are a marketplace for selling domains, side-projects and small online businesses. You are allowed to sell the following on our platform:
- Domains - you are selling a brand or business URL that is parked with a registrar or host.
- Social Media Accounts - you are selling a community built on a social media platform.
- Starter Websites - you are selling a domain that includes a fully developed website and content.
- Side-Project - you are selling software or a fully developed app. Projects can be profitable or profitless.
- SaaS Product or Business - you are selling a money-generating asset which includes IP, customer lists, processes, infrastructure, and accounts required to run the business.
- eCommerce Business - you are selling a profitable online store which includes customer lists, processes, infrastructure and accounts needed to run the business.
Please note that when we moderate listings, we consider the listings context, which we define as follows:
- Side-project - an asset with the potential to become valuable or profitable.
- Microbusinesses - a money-generating asset which includes IP, customer lists, processes, and infrastructure and accounts required to run the business.
- Small business - an entity and its related assets, this could include the legal entity, bank accounts, IP, customer lists, processes, and infrastructure required to run the business.
Side-Project Submission Guidelines
We accept SaaS products, software that sells user licenses, e-commerce stores, mobile app and open-source projects that you own. Projects can be profitable or profitless but must be validated and must demonstrate that the project can become something valuable to the buyer.
Project Criteria:
- the MVP must be complete and functional
- the project must include a URL
- you must be able to provide a demo or test account
- the project must have the potential to be turned into something valuable or profitable
- if you are reselling something you need to provide the licenses that you are allowed to do so
We do not accept the following types of projects:
- Concepts and ideas
- Templates
- Open-source projects belonging to someone else
- Open-source projects which are reskinned for sale
- Forked open-source projects
- Lead generation and funnel websites
- Scraped data or databases where users have not agreed to the sale of their data
- Licensing of digital IP (you cannot sell more than one version of the IP)
- Projects that are related to sports betting and gambling
- Projects which contain adult, political, religious or offensive content
- Projects that are related to malware, spyware or similar software and scripts
- Projects that infringe on someone else IP right
When submitting a project listing, please ensure that the listing is complete to be approved quickly during moderation.
- answer all the questions on the listing form accurately and concisely
- check that you have submitted the most recent and correct information
- provide metrics on web traffic, users or downloads if applicable
- provide metrics on revenue if applicable
- provide high-quality images that reflect the current status of your project
- check your grammar and spelling is correct
All listings are moderated and may be rejected for the following reasons:
- the listing has poor spelling and grammar
- the listing is not English
- the listing lacks details
- the listing image quality is poor
- the asset itself is poor quality
- the listing violates our terms
- the listing does not adhere to our Content Submission Policy
Domain Submission Guidelines
We are looking for great domains names that are memorable, profitable and have a strong brand association. We prefer short domain names, domains that rank well in search engines or have the potential to generate significant traffic.
We moderate domains based on the following criteria:
- memorable
- searchable
- exact match keywords
- short domain names
We do not accept domains that are:
- offensive in any way
- website subdomains
- domains where links end on a pay page
- domains where links end at a competing marketplace
You must verify your domain to prove that you own the domain.
Social Media Account Submission Guidelines
We list social media accounts with an established audience and great content.
You must verify your ownership to prove that you own the account.
SaaS Business Submission Guidelines
We accept both business and consumer SaaS products.
SaaS listings must:
- provide at least 6-months data on web traffic
- provide at least 6-months data on users and churn
- provide at least 6-months info on revenue and profit
- provide URL for viewing
- be sold by the owner (we do not allow brokers on the website)
When submitting a SaaS listing, please ensure that the listing is complete to be approved quickly and hassle-free.
- answer all the questions on the listing form accurately and concisely
- check that you have submitted the most recent and correct information
- provide metrics on web traffic, users and churn
- provide information on revenue and profit
- provide high-quality images that reflect the current status of your project
- check your grammar and spelling is correct
